We are a team of couples from the Mankato area Catholic Churches. We are not professional Marriage councelors. However, we are full time husbands and wives living the Sacrament of Marriage everyday. We live out our vows which we pronounced at the altar. The Mankato Area Pre-Cana team was started in the 1970's to fill the need to help engaged couples prepare for their marriage. At the time, there were so many couples getting married the priests could not do all of it themselves. Father Joe Fogal pulled together a team of married couples to present a weekend about the Sacrament of Marriage to engaged couples. They talked about Communication, relationships, finances, family planning, roles and responsibilities, spirituality and the purpose of Marriage being a Sacrament.

We are also a ministry of the St. Thomas More Newman Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato. This ministry is focused on the Sacrament of Marriage and gives engaged couples time to explore what the Catholic Church teaches about the Sacrament and how the benefit of this Sacrament enhances the marriage relationship of the couple.
